With a significant milestone in time comes, such as a beginning of a new year, it is only natural to want to make a new start. A milestone is a point in time that usually signifies and END to something (the mile or for the young ones kilometer) AND also the BEGINNING of the next thing. So making New Years Resolutions is normal and natural, even if you fight the temptation. But as you know & often joke about it, 95%of people do not keep their new years resolutions. Finances, money, wealth building and health are particularly common and difficult ones, mainly because of the discipline involved and the regret of not doing them. But the only failure is the in giving up! So do the opposite and turn your New Years Resolutions into New Years Revolutions!
Here's a YouTube video clip that a dear success coach colleague & friend shared with me. It is an inspiring video clip if Nick Vujicic (pronounced "voh-yee-chitch"... I think) And I thought it was difficult to pronounce Ponnampalam! Stacey didn't send it to me because I'm a success coach or that as the Wealth Catalyst Coach I am always on the watch for inspiring information for my clients. No! She was truly moved. So moved that she could not help but send this on to everyone she knew.
This is one of the MOST INSPIRING and MOTIVATING video clips that I have seen in a long time.
Here is a man in his 20's, no arms and no legs from birth, who is now an internationally renowned motivational speaker, author, philanthropist, successful options trader and a property developer. Nick Vujicic is clearly physically disabled yet very mobile and quite able. He has developed a practical philosophy of PERSPECTIVE, VISION and ACTION summarised as ATTITUDE IS ALTITUDE.
Do a search on YouTube for Nick and you will find many clips of how he lives and more of what he says. He can swim (you have to see it!), he can cook, he brushes his teeth, he picks up the phone and he can do 1 finger typing.
He lives a normal life like everyone else and that certainly reminds me of how much I take for granted having arms and legs. That reminds me to be grateful. By far, what I draw the most INSPIRATION from is how he can GET UP every time he falls down.
As you contemplate your New Year's Resolutions for 2009, transform them to your New Year's Revolution.
So take what you can get and come back here to watch this video often! When you watch it, don't mind the Chinese subtitles as the video clip is in English and was used to promote his Hong Kong Tour.
